Château Camille Gaucheraud is an ORGANIC winery located in the municipality of Laruscade, thirty minutes north of Bordeaux.
Our 40 hectares of vines are composed of 36 hectares of red grape varietals that includes 75% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Malbec grapes. We also have 4 hectares of white grape varietals of 100% Sauvignon Blanc. The average age of the vines is 25 years.
Our winery is located on a hill surrounded by vineyards and the vines benefit from a clay-gravel-sandy soil. The exhibition is half North/South facing and the other half East / West facing. The density is 4500 vines per hectare.
We wanted to develop our own wines in memory of our great-grandfather Camille Gaucheraud, so we created Château Camille Gaucheraud in 1999. Benoit looks after the vines and makes the wines, while Freddy is responsible for the business side of operations with expertise in distribution, exportation and marketing. Our wines reflect our passion for sustainable agriculture. Although we have always focused on the best environmental practices, we began our official Biological Conversion in 2018 and we became fully certified as Bio-Organic in 2021.
